The camera’s operate off the 4G network and require a connection to be able to communicate and upload the captured images to the viewing platform.

They run off an internal lithium battery and can be powered via a small solar panel as long as they have access to the sun. Or we can use a mains power adaptor to power the units.

The units are supplied with a right angle pole mount which allows them to be installed on any vertical upright very easily. In a lot of cases this can be in the form of a supplied block and pole solution on a greenfield site or onto an existing on a railing of an adjacent roof structure in city areas.

After 20 years in time lapse we have found that taking images at 10 minute intervals over the course of the working day seems to produce the best results. We then take into account how long the project is running for and ensuring that we capture enough frames to make a meaningfull production. For example if your project runs for 12 months but the biggest visual change happens over one particular month, we are better to shorten the interval when the change is happening and extending out at other times that are not as important.

There is a place for each of these cameras on a construction site and it is likely you will need both unless you are prepared to severely compromise somewhere.

They are designed to use motion detection to capture an inceident happening when your team isn’t at the site. These camera’s due to the need to store video footage do not keep a project history from the start of the project. The viewing angle is more focussed on identifying an intruder getting in through an entry point to your site and providing some form of a managed service for response.
